We got this as an additional heat source to manage independently from our central heat pump. I planned to order at least three, but will limit it to this one because the cord is very short, installation positions are very limited. I could see where it would be preferential to hire an electrician to install outlets behind any of these wall mounted options. It's likely not safe to use an extension cord. For anyone hoping to add a photo sticker to disguise it as a decorative item, some polyester sticker and glue combinations do withstand 104 degrees, but the aluminum expands when heated, so the sticker will wrinkle. The heat will likely eventually fade the ink over time as well. Paint may handle the expansion. I wouldn't recommend a frame unless it floats outside the heating panel and can withstand the heat without getting hot to the touch.ie. I wouldn't recommend framing. Support recommended using a thermostat outlet with this heat panel, so I imagine it would also be safe to use with a smart plug and be associated with other smart systems such as IFTTT with Ecobee sensors.
